The reason the plants are looking a bit stretched is because the light bulb should have been a Metal Halide bulb which you can use in your HPS ballast no problem but not the other way around. HPS bulb should only be used for the flowering stage. MH bulbs put out a lot of blue spectrum light for the vegetation stage and this will ensure that your plants are very strong and very bushy.
