OK here goes. The reason the plants are looking a bit stretched is because the light bulb should have been a Metal Halide bulb which you can use in your HPS ballast no problem but not the other way around. HPS bulb should only be used for the flowering stage. MH bulbs put out a lot of blue spectrum light for the vegetation stage and this will ensure that your plants are very strong and very bushy. @maxpesh you can use either lamp for an entire life cycle if you have to and a hps wont stretch your plants it just needed to be alot closer it will make them grow slower but should keep them shorter and bushier

true hps needs to be used in flowering, i always liked the tried and true florescents (blues of course), they seem less harsh, sometimes mh can be a bit much for baby plants, you can get any thing you need at my site lonestarhydroponics/com
